China on Thursday reassured its support to Pakistan and other South Asian countries in their collective efforts to achieve social stability and economic prosperity. Commenting on the role of South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (Saarc) here at a regular news briefing, the spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Office Kong Quan said that China had been actively supporting the Association in the regional affairs to achieve its objectives.

He noted the Saarc had made a positive contribution, and yielded positive results, to promoting social stability and economic prosperity.

China would explore all possibilities, working together with the South Asian countries in social, economic and political fields, the spokesman added.
